About Us
Design Solutions is a fully licensed Indonesian PTPMA Interior Design and Architecture Firm headed by owner, LLoyd Hassencahl, an American expatriate, originally from Los Angeles, who has lived in Bali for over 25 years. Since its founding in 2007, Design Solutions has brought to full creative expression the custom design of exclusive residences, destination restaurants, and boutique hotels throughout Bali and the region.
The Design Solutions portfolio of projects features a diverse range of styles and bespoke environments that reflect the specific dreams and wishes of our international clients. We are a full-service architecture and interior design organization that collaborates with our clients from concept to completed design. Our first process is to get-to-know the clients to fully understand the vibe, design esthetics, and functionality they envision for the property. We then determine the best design solutions to create beautiful and memorable environments to suit each individual and unique project.
Our Services
Design Solutions can commit to projects as simple as refreshing and refurbishing a holiday rental villa to the complexity of designing and building an extraordinary luxury property. We work rigorously with our clients to determine and define the scope of work for each project. A detailed outline of the work along with a costs summary and timeline estimate will be provided to the owners in advance of moving forward with the project.
The experienced Team at Design Solutions is able to plan and execute interior remodels and interior architecture work for existing or newly constructed properties. We are also able to do from-the-ground-up new architecture and construction. If you have already enlisted an Architect, Design Solutions can work in tandem with the Architect to perfect the plans for the building and property in addition to developing the interior design for the new construction.
Design Solutions curates all aspects of your project interiors. We design and manufacture custom furniture, cabinetry, kitchens, wardrobes, and bathroom vanities specific to the interior design plans established for the project. We also do bespoke upholstery, decorative lighting, wall treatments, window treatments, flooring, and home accessories to deliver a cohesive look for the interiors. Soft goods including accent pillows and bedscapes among others are produced through our Kamala Home division.
Since many of our clients reside oversees during the work in process, Design Solutions provides a weekly progress report with photos and explanations of the work being achieved. We keep our clients up-to-date with our transparent reporting and recaps. Weekly international conference calls can also be scheduled to discuss the work being done in more detail. Design Solutions will manage the supervision, quality control, timelines, and payment schedules of all of our partner vendors, trades, sub-contractors, carpenters, and the like. Design Solutions will conveniently be the exclusive direct contact for the owners, simplifying and securing the entire experience.
